Dri-FIT vs Climacool Technical Fabric | Comparison Between Them

Dri-Fit and Climacool are technical fabrics innovated by Nike and Adidas respectively. Both fabrics are designed to keep the wearer cool and sweat-free in a hot environment or during physical activities.

Dri-FIT and Climacool both serve the same purpose. But their mode of operation is a bit different. Dri-FIT works by wicking the body’s sweat into the fabric and evaporating it fast to keep the body cool Climacool is a highly breathable fabric, which keeps the body cool by allowing a greater flow of air to the body.

Dri-FIT vs Climacool

Difference Between Dri-FIT and Climacool Fabric

Dri-FIT and Climacool both are technical fabrics that are designed to keep the wearer cool and sweat-free during hot and humid conditions or physical activities. These fabrics are the most popular for making sportswear and summer clothes.

  • Dri-FIT is an innovative polyester fabric designed by Nike. Its microfiber construction supports the body’s natural cooling system by wicking away sweat from the body and dispersing it across the fabric’s surface to evaporate faster. Due to the fast evaporation of sweat from the body, the body remains cool and dry.
  • Climacool also is a technical fabric designed by Adidas. Climacool fabric is usually made with either nylon or polyester and elastane. It features tiny pores throughout the surface of the fabric. This makes the fabric breathable and allows a greater flow of air to the body, which keeps the body cool by evaporating the sweat rapidly.

Both these fabrics are used extensively for skin contact clothing for any type of physical sport. This helps the athletes to keep cool, dry, and comfortable. They also have huge popularity as summer wear and workout clothing.

What is Climacool Fabric

Climacool is a synthetic technical fabric innovated and introduced by Adidas. Climacool fabric has tiny pores all over the surface. These pores increase ventilation and allow air to flow more freely between the fiber and the body. This makes the fabric extremely breathable and keeps the wearer cool in hot weather.

What is the Adidas Version of Dri-FIT

The Adidas version of Nike’s Dri-Fit is Climalite. Dri-FIT wicks away sweat and disperses it across the fabric’s surface to evaporate it faster. Climalite fabric too wicks away sweat from the body and disperses it across the surface of the fabric to evaporate faster. So climalite can be called the Adidas version of Dri-FIT.

What is better Climalite vs Climacool?

Climacool is better than Climalite fabric. Climacool fabric is thinner than climalite because it is made with only one layer of fabric. It is also highly breathable due to having pores all over the surface of the fabric, so it keeps the body cooler than Climalite. Because of these factors, Climacool is considered superior to Climalite.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Is Climacool for Hot Weather?

Yes, Climacool is suitable for hot weather. Climacool fabric has micro pores all over its surface. This makes the fabric highly breathable and allows air to move freely across the fabric to the body which results in a greater rate of evaporation of sweat from the body. So, the body remains cool during hot weather.

What is Climalite fabric?

Climalite is a fabric innovated by Adidas. It consists of a synthetic and cotton layer. The synthetic layer is coated with a hydrophilic layer, which absorbs the sweat from the body and disperses it into the more absorbent cotton layer, from where it evaporates. This keeps the skin touching the fabric dry and cool.

Conclusion

Dri-FIT and Climacool are both technical fabrics designed to serve the same purpose. Their general term is microfiber polyester. It combines the effect of micropores for greater breathability and microfiber’s moisture-wicking ability. The combined effect keeps the wearer’s body cool and dry in hot and humid conditions.
