Janome 350E Review

Did you know that the Janome brand was the first to manufacture embroidery machines meant for home use? Well, now, you know.

On that note, this is a brand you can trust to provide sturdy, reliable, and inexpensive, yet user-friendly machines.  No formal training is necessary for you to operate models like the Janome Memory Craft 350E.

This unit is a classic machine specially designed for home embroidery projects. While it may not have any sewing capabilities, it is ideal for monogramming. This is just the machine you need to make statements about your style.

Just like all other embroidery units, this one too claims to be the best. But is this true? Let’s find out in this all-rounded Janome 350E review.

Janome 350E Memory Craft Embroidery Machine

When it comes to choosing a tailoring machine, it is best to stick to products from renowned brands.

Then again, it is equally important to know facts about the features, functions, and performance of various units before making a purchase. Unfortunately, the markets have their fair share of overrated pieces of junk.

The Janome 350E is undoubtedly not a visually stunning product. However, this is a machine you can expect to deliver as promised. Let’s get down to its details and find out whether it is worthy of its hype.

Built-In Embroidery Designs

This equipment has 100 on-board embroidery designs. With such a wide selection of designs, a beginner is likely to have a ball trying out new projects.

Better still, it is possible to access an unlimited number of patterns because you can import designs and feed them using a USB memory stick or an ATA PC card.

Furthermore, the Janome 350E supports monogramming, and it comes with 3 in-built fonts, 3 unique embroidery frame designs, and 2-3 letter designs. The machine has 2 embroidery hoops, the large one measuring 5.5″ x 7.9″ and the small one has 5″ x 4.3″ standard dimensions.

Highlighted Features

  • 100 built-in embroidery designs
  • 3 frame designs
  • 2-3 letter designs and 3 in-built fonts
  • Built-in Folder System
  • Drag and Drop editing for stress-free placement
  • Presser foot and upper thread sensors

There are more than a few aspects of this machine that I absolutely adore. However, the part that I love most is the oversized embroidery signs. This unit can perform embroideries of various sizes up to a maximum of 5.5″ x7.9″.

Transferring designs is a piece of cake. You can upload new designs via a USB or APA PC card and bring creations that have your personal style to life. Editing and setting up new patterns is also not challenging, and this is one of the key reasons why the Janome 350E stands out.

Additionally, this machine allows editing on screen. You can enlarge and reduce, drag and drop, rotate, zoom, or even turn over your designs to suit your project’s best interests. The in-built threader ensures you can get started on your tasks without wasting any time.

Just like a decent number of modern machines, this one too has an embroidery arm. It is, however, a little more advanced because it allows easy attaching of the hoop.

From a much-unbiased standpoint, this equipment is designed with beginners in mind. It remains the most user-friendly embroidery unit in the markets.

When creating a multi-color embroidery design, for instance, the machine pauses and sends a signal at the end of each color. This notifies you to change the thread color before proceeding. Better still, the machine cuts the thread automatically after the completion of each design.

Performance

One of the key reasons why the Janome 350E is a top seller is because its functions are impeccable. You can use the equipment to sew through delicate fabrics like silk and velvet and even natural fibers like cotton and linen. This unit can also sew through Canvas like a dream.

Even though this is an embroidery only machine, it promises you the best value for your money.

Accessories Included

  • 2 embroidery hoops
  • 2 spool holders and extra spool pin
  • 4 bobbins and extra needles
  • Spool felt, screwdriver and scissors
  • User’s manual and Instructional DVD
  • Template sheets for the in-built embroidery designs

Pros

  • Simplified controls for enhanced ease of use
  • The machine allows design customization
  • Add, edit and customize your designs
  • Fast stitching speed of 650 SPM
  • Excellent stitch quality even at maximum stitching speed
  • Accurate automatic needle threader

Cons

  • The LED screen needs improvement

Conclusion

If you need a top-quality dedicated embroidery machine, the Janome 350E is one of the best models you can consider. It has a quality construction for enhanced durability and performance issues are a rare occurrence.

With an impressive 100 in-built embroidery designs and the ability to import an infinite number of new designs, this is just the kind of unit beginners need to grow in creativity and overall skill levels.
